Born on 02 April 1987 in Amritsar (Punjab), Suresh Kaul attended kindergarten and primary school in Srinagar. Topped All India Entrance test to Join Sainik School Nagrota, Jammu in 1984, The only boarding school in the state at the time. He represented his Zone school in Hockey as captain and forward player in 1990-91 batch, Joined MBBS in 1993, MD in Internal Medicine in 2001 and DM with a doctorate in Cardiology, the highest degree in Medicine in 2006. Dr. Kaul has trained at various leading institutions in the country, including SKIMS Srinagar, Fortis Escorts Institute New Delhi, and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He received a Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology in 2013 and a Fellowship of SCAI (Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions) USA in 2014 and was appointed as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology USA in 2017, for his pioneering work in advanced interventional cardiology in remote areas.
Suresh Kaul (MBBS, MD, DM, FESC, FSCAI, FACC, Department Head of Cardiovascular Sciences, Director Cath Labs at Amandeep Hospital Pathankot) is a qualified clinical and interventional cardiologist with nearly 18 years of work experience in non-invasive, invasive and pediatric cardiology. Having provided professional advice and services in world class institutions like Fortis Escorts Hospital New Delhi, QRG Havells Hospitals New Delhi, AIIMS New Delhi, together with his team, he has provided tertiary and advanced cardiac care to people from Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Mukerian, Dalhousie, Chamba, Dharamshala, Kangra, Palampur, Samba, Kathua and many more over the past eight years. Together they have treated nearly 15,000 OPD and IPD patients and performed more than 10,000 angiography, 3,500 angioplasties, 500 pacemakers and ICD implants, 1,500 primary angioplasties, balloon valvotomy, and peripheral and renal surgery. They have played a role in driving the CABG (bypass and open heart) program in this area. He has been awarded the coveted American and European scholarships for his contribution to providing tertiary cardiac care under extremely difficult and challenging circumstances. He has presented his publications and work at various national and international conferences and peer reviewed journals. Suresh Kaul currently heads the cardiovascular science department at Amandeep Hospital, Pathankot.
